Boxing vs. the Gym: Why More People in SWFL Are Choosing the Gloves

Updated: Oct 5

If you’re tired of treadmills, crowded weight rooms, and workouts that feel more like a chore than a challenge, you’re not alone. More and more people in Bonita Springs, Naples, and Estero are trading in their gym memberships for boxing — and here’s why:

Coach Jody Sheeley brings his boxing roots and 25+ years of experience to SWFL

1. Coaching Every Time You Train At big gyms, you’re on your own. At Corner to Corner, every membership includes hands-on coaching from Coach Jody, who brings 25+ years of boxing and fitness expertise.

2. Full-Body, Functional Training Forget isolating muscle groups. Boxing blends cardio, strength, and conditioning in one session — building endurance, mobility, and real-world strength.

3. No Egos, Just Community Unlike gyms where headphones keep everyone disconnected, our culture is built on respect, grit, and encouragement. Members train side by side — from kids to seniors, amateurs to pros.

4. Limited Memberships = More Attention We cap memberships at just 50 total. That means no waiting for equipment, no getting lost in a crowd, and coaching that actually knows your name.

5. It’s Never Boring Boxing is dynamic, challenging, and fun. Every round is different — no mindless "just treadmill" sessions here.

🥊 The difference is clear: this isn’t “just another gym.” It’s a community where you’ll get stronger, faster, and more confident — inside and outside the ring.
